Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Services
Hong Kong Shue Yan University is committed to offering equal opportunities for students with special educational needs or disabilities in their academic pursuits by promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Students’ needs will be assessed individually.

Deadline to apply for SEN Support Service: On or before Week 4 of each semester
Students with special educational needs/disabilities are advised to contact us at osa_sen@hksyu.edu so that individualized services can be arranged.
If you do not contact us by the deadline, the support services will not be guaranteed for that same semester. The accommodations will be arranged for the next semester.

1. Contact OSA SEN Support Service
Students with Special Educational Needs are advised to contact us at osa_sen@hksyu.edu. You will receive an email with a link to make an appointment with us for the SEN meeting. Students are required to contact us on or before Week 4 of each semester.

2. Attend the SEN Meeting
Students who indicated special educational needs and requested further support are invited to meet the Student Counsellor at the SEN meeting. Your support needs will be discussed in the meeting. Please bring along supporting documents from recognized professionals on your SEN. Specific adjustments will be determined with reference to the recommendations from relevant professionals, special arrangements offered in public examinations and other special learning accommodations provided by previous secondary schools/educational institutions.

3. Support Arrangements
OSA will discuss with relevant parties and you the appropriate support arrangements. Students will receive an email regarding the result of the reasonable academic accommodations and adjustments.
